Retail checkout
Your basket holds the models, prices and quantities you choose. Checkout uses your name, email address, telephone number, delivery address, town or city, postcode, optional comment and choice of payment method to display your order summary. The details remain in the open page on your device. Submitting the checkout does not send these details to our mailbox or create an order record on our systems.
Checkout records only which payment option you select. We do not ask for or receive card numbers, security codes or bank credentials. If we connect a payment provider in future, that provider will handle payment credentials and we will update this notice before the service starts.
Email and trade enquiries
A contact link opens a draft in your own email app. We receive information once you send the email. For a retail question, this usually includes your name, reply address and the product or order you ask about.
For a trade quote, we use your name, work email, company, requested models or specifications, quantities, delivery town and any requirements you send. We use the message and our replies to prepare and discuss your quotation. Please send a business contact rather than the details of pupils, patients or other people who will use the equipment.
Why we use your information
- Contract. When you enquire or buy personally, we use the details necessary to take steps you request before a contract, or to carry out that contract.
- Legitimate interests. When you represent an organisation, we use relevant business contact details to answer its request, discuss specifications and keep a record of the quotation. We consider the effect on your privacy and you can object.
- Legal obligation. Where the law requires it, we keep relevant transaction records or provide information to an authority.
- Consent. If we ask for consent for a separate, optional use, we explain that use at the time. You may withdraw consent by contacting us. Withdrawal applies going forward.
Who receives your information
People at Nordcent IT handling your enquiry can read relevant correspondence. We use Microsoft Outlook for email, so Microsoft processes messages sent to our business address. We may disclose information to an authority where legally required. Choosing a payment option on this site does not share your details with a payment provider.
International transfers
Email providers may process correspondence outside the UK. Where we make a restricted transfer, we rely on applicable UK adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards, such as a UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum with the required assessment. Contact us if you would like details of the safeguards relevant to your correspondence.
How long we keep information
The site keeps basket and checkout details only in the current page’s memory. Reloading the page starts a new basket. Email correspondence has a separate retention period. We review enquiries when the discussion ends and keep messages only while needed for follow-up, an agreed supply contract, applicable record-keeping duties or a dispute. We delete or anonymise them when those purposes end.
Security
We limit access to correspondence to those who need it for the enquiry. Please use your organisation’s contact details for trade requests and leave out passwords, payment credentials and sensitive personal information. If a message reaches you in error, contact us so we can address it.
Your rights and complaints
You can ask for access to your personal information or ask us to correct it. Depending on the circumstances, you may also ask for erasure, restriction of use or a portable copy of information you supplied. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw any consent you gave.
To exercise a right or raise a concern, email our team or use the postal address above. Tell us which correspondence or enquiry your request concerns. We may need enough information to verify your identity. We normally respond to rights requests within one month.
You have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. You can read its guidance or make a complaint to the ICO.
Children and young people
Shopping and trade enquiries are intended for adults aged 18 and over. Schools and universities should use an adult purchasing contact. If a child has sent us their details, a parent or guardian can contact us to request their removal.
Changes to this policy
We revise this page when our services or use of personal information changes. The date above shows when we last updated it.
